🇫🇷 GEIPAN / CNES
On the night of 30 May 1993 a witness on a balcony in Pantin saw a motionless orange rectangular shape in the sky for about fifteen minutes. It drifted slowly away, leaving a blinking red flash. Around 4:30 a.m. a second shape appeared — circular and white — remaining visible for hours before fading. GEIPAN re-examined the case and concluded it was most likely aircraft landing lights during a nocturnal approach. The distance to the airport and the witness's lack of experience in sky observation accounted for the confusion. Final classification: B.
