In the early hours of 24–25 July 1993 three witnesses at Saint-Étienne-de-Lugdarès watched a rotating white light with multiple bright points. The investigation quickly identified the source: a multi-faceted reflector at a nearby nightclub whose beam, bouncing off a low cloud layer, created the illusion of a moving object.
