In August 1993 three witnesses saw a motionless red luminous phenomenon near Mont Valier in Haute-Garonne. One used binoculars and made out five bright points inside the object. After about ten minutes it vanished in seconds. Initially classified as unexplained, GEIPAN later reviewed it with new tools. Testimony suggests the phenomenon may have been on the ground, but contradictions in reported directions and movements complicate the analysis. Confusion over geographic reference points adds further difficulty, and the case remains unresolved.
