Green light and spinning red dot over the sea in Réunion

In March 1994, a resident of Saint-Joseph on Réunion Island alerted authorities after seeing a turquoise-green light with a rapidly spinning red dot over the ocean. Gendarmes patrolled for an hour but observed nothing. That same night, college students searching for Jupiter noticed nothing unusual either. The phenomenon reappeared on 3 April and was seen by several witnesses. Although no flying object was identified, the characteristics of the sighting suggest laser reflections.
