In May 1994, four witnesses in La Haye-Pesnel, Manche, spotted an oval object in the sky. They followed it, photographed it, and filmed it. Shortly afterwards, fragments of balloons bearing posters from a children's balloon-launch contest organised in England were found in a nearby field. The match between the observed object and the recovered debris made the balloons the most plausible explanation. GEIPAN classified the case as B, finding no genuinely unexplainable elements once the debris was identified.
