Silent black triangle over Lacanau

Summary

In August 1994, a group of people walking near the sea at Lacanau (Gironde) noticed a dark mass hanging in the air. It quickly revealed itself as a huge triangular shape with irregular lights along two of its sides. Two children also saw it. The object rotated silently and moved away toward the southeast before vanishing. The main witness sketched the event in a notebook.

The testimony did not reach GEIPAN until 2008. Although the account includes the witness's drawing, there are no independent corroborations or additional evidence. The case was classified C — neither confirmed nor ruled out.
