Reddish geometric shape above a forest in Sorges

Summary

On the night of 16 September 1994, a witness in Sorges (Dordogne) first noticed an intense yellow light about 200 metres away. Shortly afterwards, a reddish, seemingly octagonal geometric figure appeared above a nearby forest, completely silent. There were no other witnesses and no physical traces were found. GEIPAN classified the case C, with no conventional explanation identified.
