🇫🇷 GEIPAN / CNES
In late December 1994, several witnesses in Côtes-d'Armor reported lights in the sky over consecutive days, with initially puzzling descriptions. A fresh GEIPAN analysis identified three distinct phenomena. The one on 29 December was attributed to a storm at sea whose flashes were visible from the coast and matched a recorded meteorological event in time and location. Sightings on the following days were linked to the planet Venus, whose sky position fitted the witnesses' descriptions. Two additional observations lacked sufficient information for a conclusive assessment, possibly confused with urban or vehicle lights in a suggestible context.
