Dark Object with Physical Effects in Fontiès-d'Aude

Summary

One night in May 1995, a couple in Fontiès-d'Aude spotted a dark, helicopter-like object hovering silently. It illuminated the ground several times before moving away at moderate speed. Their dogs hid without barking and later suffered vomiting and diarrhea. The husband experienced severe fatigue and his wife developed health issues. Vegetation hit by the light beams showed signs of decay. A neighbor was also suddenly hospitalized, prompting the witness to contact Civil Security.

Investigators could not identify the object or establish a causal link between the sighting and the reported effects. Heat and ongoing medical treatments were suggested as alternative explanations for the symptoms, and similar crop deterioration was found outside the affected area. The phenomenon remains unexplained.
