🇫🇷 GEIPAN / CNES
A witness in Mauron described a large, round object rotating slowly and silently, seen first over a house and then over a field. Initially deemed unexplainable, GEIPAN reexamined the case and reclassified it as B after identifying a likely cause: a nightclub "sky tracker" lighting device that projects laser beams visible when airborne particles are present. An active nightclub in the area had the capacity to use such technology in 1995. The witness's description—circular motion, swaying, and silence—matched the behavior of these devices. The sighting occurred on a weekend, when nightclub activity peaks, and atmospheric conditions were compatible with beam visibility.
