Multiple aerial phenomena near Montpellier

Summary

Several sightings were recorded in the Montpellier area between February and March 1997. On March 17, witnesses and air crews observed a green object on a descending trajectory, consistent with a space object entering the atmosphere. In a separate episode around 8:30 PM, a farmer saw two white lights that went out when he shone his flashlight at them; a direct light then pointed back at him as if observing him, and the object rose and disappeared silently. A third witness reported an elongated orange luminous phenomenon that no aircraft in flight detected. The first case has a probable explanation; the second remains unsolved.
