Around 23:00 on December 11, 1997, military personnel observed silent luminous flashes in the Aube area. Simultaneous brief power outages were confirmed by EDF as the result of an incident on the 33 kV line supplying the zone. The temporal coincidence led investigators to conclude the flashes most likely occurred along the power line during the fault. GEIPAN classified the case as category B — a plausible explanation without definitive confirmation.
