Saint-André-de-Cubzac 2000, silent luminous object hovering over woods

Summary

In the early hours of 5 February 2000, a motorist near Saint-André-de-Cubzac (Gironde) saw a luminous object moving slowly before stopping above a wooded area, roughly 200 metres away and 150 metres high. The phenomenon was completely silent and remained visible for 30 to 40 seconds. No further data were obtained. The absence of sound and the object's behaviour do not readily fit conventional explanations.
