Summary

At 3:45 a.m. on 11 February 2000, a motorist heading to work near Miniac-Morvan (Ille-et-Vilaine) saw an elongated object about 30 metres above ground, shaped like a jet engine surrounded by yellow flames with a long trail. It moved slowly and horizontally, producing no sound. When the witness stopped for a better look, the phenomenon had already vanished. No air traffic or electrical disturbances were recorded in the area.

GEIPAN concluded that the witness's visual perception was coherent but that interpretation was influenced by circumstances — night driving, surprise and lack of reference points. A natural bolide was deemed the most likely explanation. The case was classified as PAN B.
