At 1:20 a.m. on August 1, 2000, two people watching from their apartment in Le Havre saw a green, egg-shaped object streak rapidly across the sky toward the southeast. The sighting lasted about six seconds, during which the object split into two parts before disappearing behind the urban skyline. No other witnesses or reports were recorded. The characteristics — short duration, green color, fragmentation, and descending trajectory — strongly suggest a natural atmospheric entry such as a bolide or meteorite.
