In September 2000, two witnesses in Mallemort saw a pair of luminous spheres fall simultaneously, each leaving a white trail. The event was completely silent and lasted only a few seconds before the objects vanished. The observed characteristics — simultaneous descent, brevity, and trailing light — are consistent with an atmospheric entry such as meteorite fragments or space debris. GEIPAN classified the case as B, meaning the observation is probably explainable by natural causes.
