Summary

At around 23:40 on 1 December 2001, several witnesses in Val de Reuil saw between six and twelve very bright points that burned out within roughly fifteen seconds. No sounds or other effects were reported. The profile of the event — its brevity, high luminous intensity and silence — fits the pattern of objects entering the atmosphere at high speed. GEIPAN classified the case as B, considering it a credible observation with a plausible but not definitively confirmed explanation.
