Summary

In the early hours of 2 June 2002, a driver in Dreux saw a bright object plunging and breaking apart in the sky. The phenomenon lasted only seconds and produced no sound. There were no other witnesses or physical traces. Investigators concluded it was most likely a piece of space debris entering the atmosphere. GEIPAN classification B.
