Unexplained nocturnal explosions in Petite-Île

Summary

In the early hours of 22 September 2002, a couple in Petite-Île (Réunion) were woken by a loud, unpleasant noise that culminated in three violent explosions, all within about three seconds. Curiously, their children did not wake up and a neighbour heard nothing. No further data were collected. GEIPAN classification C.
