Summary

In October 2002, the crew of an A320 flying from Lisbon to Orly spotted two very bright lights passing rapidly above their aircraft at an estimated distance of over 35 kilometres, following a descending trajectory. The crew themselves identified the phenomenon as a possible atmospheric entry, a conclusion GEIPAN investigators shared. Classification B — plausible explanation, though not fully confirmed.
