Fireball with flashes over Cazères-sur-l'Adour

Summary

At around 22:00 on 1 November 2002, a witness in Landes saw a fire-coloured luminous ball with intermittent flashes performing back-and-forth movements before disappearing after about 30 seconds. According to the report, aeronautical pilots may also have witnessed the phenomenon. Despite multiple observations, the object could not be identified. GEIPAN classified it as D — an unexplained phenomenon after investigation.
