On 3 December 2002, two witnesses in Annecy watched a pair of elongated bright points glide silently across the sky in a straight line for about five minutes. Analysis showed the lights were the International Space Station and the shuttle STS-113, which had undocked from the ISS the previous day. Ground-track data between 17:55 and 18:05 confirmed both objects passed over the region. GEIPAN classified the case as A — fully identified.
