A Boeing 738 mistaken for a luminous triangle in Rahon

Summary

In November 2004, a witness in the Jura department spotted what appeared to be a triangular object roughly ten metres across, hovering silently above the trees with white, red, and blue lights. The witness fled when the object moved. The investigation determined it was a Boeing 738 performing a holding pattern before landing. The side-on view of the aircraft explained the triangular appearance perceived by the observer.
