In April 2006, around 10 a.m., a witness in Châtenay-Malabry spotted a black object moving in a straight line, silently and at a constant speed, until it vanished on the horizon. It was described as a "petroleum barrel" or a "black cabin," barrel-shaped and at low altitude. A solar balloon was considered, as its dark appearance and slow movement would be consistent with the observation, but the lack of an exact date and additional details prevented confirmation.
The straight trajectory and dark tone did not easily match conventional aircraft, adding uncertainty to the analysis. GEIPAN classified the case as C due to insufficient information.
