At 5:08 a.m. on 13 September 2007, a witness in Remiremont saw two white luminous points with reddish glints moving north to south, about two degrees apart and completely silent. Their unusual brightness, around magnitude 4, stood out. The strongest hypothesis points to the COSMOS 2429 satellite and its rocket booster, launched two days earlier. However, the witness reported an initial impression of stillness lasting about five seconds, which does not fully match that explanation. Despite this discrepancy, GEIPAN classified the case as B: probable astronomical phenomenon.
