On 23 April 2008, a witness in Pornichet (Loire-Atlantique) found unexplained objects in beach photos she had taken. The first image clearly shows a silhouette with body and wings, consistent with a bird. The second, less sharp, seemed to show the same thing, but a later testimony identified it as a frisbee—also visible in someone's hand in an enlarged version of the first photo.
Despite the frisbee clarification, GEIPAN kept the case at classification B because the first image still points to a bird. The case illustrates how fast-moving objects captured in unplanned shots can create confusion.
