In May 2008, six students in Juigné-des-Moutiers watched two white-and-blue lights move silently across the sky before climbing rapidly. The lights featured a luminous filament and followed a not entirely linear path. Thai lanterns were considered but the testimonies did not fully match that explanation. The lack of supporting information and the age of the case led GEIPAN to classify it as C, without entirely ruling out the lantern hypothesis.
