Summary

A witness in Chelles recorded between 11 PM and midnight yellow-and-orange lights that appeared to descend slowly toward the ground near Charles de Gaulle airport. GEIPAN suggested they were landing lights of approaching aircraft, visible up to 30 kilometres away. Colour can shift with distance and atmospheric conditions, and seeing several aircraft at once makes it hard to judge real distance, creating the illusion of approach or retreat.

The case was classified as B. The witness provided no precise dates or directions, preventing deeper investigation, but the aircraft-traffic explanation is consistent with the available data.
