Between 10 and 11 August 2008, a witness in Préseau observed two star-like luminous points, first with the naked eye and then through binoculars, between 23:00 and 02:17. The points remained stationary before appearing to move slowly. A similar sighting was recorded on 22 August at 22:35, with an object lower on the horizon. Investigators concluded the witnesses had seen the stars Arcturus and Capella, which were especially prominent at that time of year. The presence of gendarmes among the observers adds reliability to the account, though no evidence of unexplained phenomena was found.
