Dust orbs mistaken for luminous points in Reims

Summary

In January 2009, a witness in Reims reported seeing luminous points over several nights and took dozens of night-flash photographs as supposed evidence. Analysis of the images showed the captured objects were orbs—dust particles illuminated by the camera flash. Although the witness insisted the observations were unusual, experts concluded there was nothing unexplainable. GEIPAN classified the case as A: clearly identified phenomenon.
