🇫🇷 GEIPAN / CNES
On January 1, 2009, at 0:40, a witness in Strasbourg saw a luminous phenomenon through a window. A red point crossed the clouds, descended in a curve, moved horizontally, and stopped. After dimming, it appeared to rise back into the clouds and vanish. There were no other witnesses and no photographic or video evidence. GEIPAN considered New Year's fireworks as a plausible but unconfirmable hypothesis due to the lack of additional information. The case was classified as C.
