🇫🇷 GEIPAN / CNES
One February 2009 evening, a witness in Marseille observed two distinct phenomena from the kitchen window. First, a reddish shape that vanished quickly, attributed to a possible sky lantern. Then, a reddish sphere that rose and fell; GEIPAN identified it as the Moon setting behind partial cloud cover and classified it A. Notably, the witness never mentioned the Moon in the account. The remaining observations were too vague and were placed in category C for lack of information.
