🇫🇷 GEIPAN / CNES
In February 2009, a witness in Meyzieu (Rhône) observed several oval orange lights moving in a triangular formation. The case was not reported to GEIPAN until 2010, seventeen months later. Although Thai sky lanterns were the initial hypothesis, the lights were moving against the wind, raising doubts. The long gap between observation and report made it impossible to contact air traffic control to verify that night's traffic. Classified C due to lack of precise data.
