Summary

On 17 March 2009 at 20:10, a witness in Saint-Martin-l'Ars (Vienne) observed two luminous white discs moving east and northeast, apparently connected by a mass. That same evening, the shuttle Atlantis was performing an approach manoeuvre toward the International Space Station. The witness's description matches the sight of both spacecraft in close proximity. The case was classified A: phenomenon identified with certainty.
