Silent V-shaped formation over Aouste-sur-Sye

Summary

Between 22:00 and 22:05 on 14 March 2009, a witness on a terrace in Aouste-sur-Sye saw a cluster of lights arranged in a V shape moving steadily from south to north in complete silence. The brevity of the sighting and the lack of noise ruled out a conventional low-altitude aircraft, and a military formation did not match the object's appearance either. GEIPAN could not reach air-traffic control in time, and a later field investigation yielded no reliable data. The case was classified C due to insufficient information.
