Videos of luminous objects recorded in Marseille

Summary

A witness in Marseille submitted two videos to GEIPAN captured by an automatic camera in March 2009. The first shows an aircraft trajectory; the second records a bright object notable for its apparent slowness. Investigators considered the meteor hypothesis, though the low apparent speed raised doubts; one explanation is that the camera captured only the final phase of atmospheric entry, partly hidden by clouds. In May the witness sent a third video showing an ascending ball of light that remains unexplained.
