Probable green fireball sighted in Joigny

Summary

On 30 March 2009, a family driving through the Yonne region saw an oval object cross the sky swiftly and silently. It emitted an intense pale-green glow and left a silvery trail. The characteristics match those of a fireball — a meteorite entering the atmosphere — although no other witnesses confirmed the event. GEIPAN classified the case as B: observation probably caused by a fireball.
