Silent white spheres over Pontarlier aerodrome

Summary

On 9 April 2009, four people at an aerodrome in the Doubs observed several white spherical objects drifting slowly and silently across the sky before disappearing from view. Two witnesses filed statements and an investigation was opened. Scientific balloons were considered, but neither meteorological services nor Swiss laboratories confirmed the hypothesis. The case was classified B — a conventional explanation could not be established.
