Red spheres in Moselle consistent with Thai lanterns

Summary

On 1 April 2009, several witnesses in Diebling saw two red spherical objects moving in a straight line, silently, at low speed and in the wind direction, before gradually fading. The coordinated, linear motion suggested luminous balloons similar to Thai lanterns. Since no formal complaint or gendarmerie report was filed, a deeper investigation could not be carried out. The case was classified C due to insufficient information.
