In April 2009, a witness in Rumilly saw a very bright sphere crossing the sky in a straight line, silently and at constant speed. Photographs were attempted but unusable. After cross-referencing the sighting with ISS orbital data, investigators concluded unequivocally that it was a pass of the International Space Station. GEIPAN classified the case as A.
