Summary

In 2005, a researcher submitted 27 FOI requests to the UK Ministry of Defence about UFO incidents from 1950 to 1980. Four focused on police officer sightings. The MOD confirmed records for three cases but found no file on the famous 1980 Alan Godfrey Todmorden sighting. Reports detailed officers observing unusual bright objects in Denbigh, Dumfries, and Todmorden, with unexplained movements. Though 1979-1980 files were being prepared for release, the MOD authorized disclosure of available documents.
