🇬🇧 Ministry of Defence
In 2007, the UK Ministry of Defence received several reports of unidentified flying object (UFO) sightings through Section 40, the office responsible for handling such cases. Witnesses described everything from bright lights in unusual formations to flying saucers performing erratic movements. Despite detailed descriptions, the Ministry did not aim to identify each sighting, as its primary role was to assess whether these phenomena posed a threat to national airspace security. In all reviewed cases, there was no evidence of unauthorized incursions or hostile activity. The reports concluded that further investigation was unnecessary beyond what was needed to rule out risks, and the files were deemed to have no further administrative value. While some witnesses were convinced they had seen something extraordinary, the Ministry maintained a neutral stance, offering no judgment on the existence of extraterrestrial life.
