In 1997, the United Kingdom recorded several reports of unidentified flying object (UFO) sightings, many of which were documented by military and police authorities. These cases included objects with unusual shapes, bright lights, and unexplained aerial behaviors. One notable case occurred in September when a witness in Peterborough observed two lights rotating around each other, flashing at different speeds. Another report, dated July, describes a silver cigar-shaped object moving at high speed with a red and green light.

In another incident, a police officer in Corsham reported a triangular object moving silently at low altitude, accompanied by another similar object.
