Summary

In December 1990, the PMU received an edition of the INTERPULS magazine, a supplement of the Komsomolskaya Pravda newspaper. This publication, jointly edited by the United States and the Soviet Union, aimed to cover cultural, social, and scientific events in both blocs. Its first issue included no hard news but featured articles on UFOs, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and skateboarding, along with advertisements from Soviet businesses seeking Western partners. While not a traditional news source, it had a wide reach, with a circulation of 21 million copies.

The magazine had a collaborative approach, with editors and observers from both countries. Its design included symbolic elements like the flags of the US and the USSR. Although the PMU did not plan to cover the publication, its existence reflected an attempt at cultural and commercial connection between the superpowers during the Cold War.
