🇺🇸 CIA
In August 1952, the CIA made a key decision to create a project focused on investigating "flying saucers." The meeting, led by Mr. Sullivan, included notable scientists and officials like Dr. Fairchild and Mr. Barnard. The goal was to better understand these phenomena and maintain updated records. Each section of the P&E division was to collaborate, assigning representatives to integrate efforts in areas such as physics and electronics. Dr. Condon was appointed as the project officer, tasked with investigating who else was involved and gathering relevant historical information.
The meeting also addressed how to respond to external inquiries. It was decided that requests would be handled through ATIC, which already had a standardized system. Additionally, it was noted that the Air Force had local agents to investigate further questions. Although there was no specific issue to discuss, the meeting was adjourned, clearly showing that the CIA was taking the subject seriously. This document marks the beginning of institutional coordination on UFOs.
