Flying Saucer in the Soviet Zone of Germany

Summary

In July 1952, a sworn witness described a UFO landing in a forest in the Soviet zone of Germany. The witness, a 48-year-old man who had escaped from the East with his family, recounted how his 10-year-old daughter pointed out a large flying saucer-like object. As he approached, he saw two figures in shiny metallic clothing examining something on the ground. The object was about 15 meters in diameter, with holes around its edge and a black conical tower. After his daughter arrived, the figures disappeared inside the object, which slowly lifted off and vanished toward Stockhelm.

The witness claimed to find a fresh circular imprint in the ground matching the tower’s shape, convincing him it wasn’t a dream. Having never heard of flying saucers before escaping, he believed it to be a new Soviet military craft. His testimony was submitted to a judge and prompted an investigation by Berlin intelligence. Other locals also reported seeing a luminous object they thought was a comet.
