In 1985, a Russian pilot and his crew reported an encounter with an unidentified flying object. The incident occurred while they were on a routine flight path. Captain Vostrikhin described a bright, silent craft that remained near the aircraft for several minutes. Despite attempts to contact control towers, there was no response or confirmation of the phenomenon. The report, later classified, did not include conventional explanations such as birds, balloons, or optical illusions.
The document, translated and declassified years later, was published by the Soviet news service TRUD. Although no definitive conclusion was reached, the case was included in official CIA files. This kind of testimony provides valuable data for the study of unexplained aerial phenomena. The crew did not show signs of hallucinations or abnormal weather conditions, which adds credibility to their account.
