UFO Sighting over Montanchez in 1967

In June 1967, several Spanish military aircraft reported a strange phenomenon over Montanchez (Badajoz). A T-33 and two F-86 fighters attempted to approach a bright object that remained almost stationary in the sky. Pilots observed changes in the object's shape, describing it as a deformed balloon, pyramid, or two cones joined together. Despite their attempts, they could not reach its altitude or obtain clear images. Radio interference and radar contacts were recorded, suggesting the presence of a physical object. Eventually, it was concluded that it was likely a weather balloon, although the file does not completely rule out other explanations.
