🇪🇸 Ejército del Aire
In September 1968, a commercial flight between Tenerife and Las Palmas witnessed an unusual aerial phenomenon. Midway through the journey, the pilot of the Fokker F-28 aircraft spotted a luminous object approaching rapidly, illuminating the cabin with a reddish and bluish light. The object, estimated to be about 20 cm in diameter, remained near the plane for approximately 45 seconds, making rapid, zigzagging movements before disappearing. Both the co-pilot and the flight attendant confirmed the presence of the phenomenon, although some passengers attributed it to a storm. Weather conditions were clear, making the nature of the object even more intriguing.
The crew provided consistent details, though there were minor discrepancies in the direction and color of the phenomenon. Investigators concluded there was no reason to keep the case classified. Despite the limitations of the testimonies, the event fits known UFO patterns, such as the "Foo Fighter" or "ball lightning" phenomenon. This case, though unresolved, adds another piece to the mystery of unidentified flying objects.
