In December 1962, two siblings in Madrid observed a bright and static light from their balcony. They described it as an elongated star with five points slowly descending. A third witness, driving down Calle de Alcalá, also saw an intense and static light for 25 minutes. Although the testimonies coincided in direction and duration, they differed in shape and size, suggesting a subjective perception. Investigators concluded it was likely Venus, which was highly visible at that time. Fog and lack of moonlight might have altered the perception of the phenomenon.
The report, initially classified, was declassified in 1993. No elements were found that warranted a stricter classification. The witnesses, though impressionable, did not report any sounds or anomalies. Meteorological conditions included calm winds and limited visibility due to fog. Despite discrepancies in descriptions, investigators considered the phenomenon common and did not require a supernatural explanation.
